A1 Breakthrough
The melody of the French language encompasses 4 levels. It changes on the last syllable of the group of words.

 Example with three levels:

4: tone of the question without an interrogative word.
3: tone of the sentence that is not finished.
2: basic tone.
1: tone at the end of a sentence.



The affirmative sentence starts on level 2: it is the most comfortable tone.

The last syllable of the affirmative sentence falls on level 1: this means that the interlocutor can start talking.

In a sequence of enumerations, the last syllable of the enumeration rises to level 3: this means that the sentence will continue.

In a question without an interrogative word, the voice rises up to level 4.
